Story2 teaches storytelling and essay writing with a focus on enhancing college application-related essays for high school students. They provide direct services to students, professional development for English teachers and college counselors, and an online writing program with written feedback on student essays.
We supported two strategic partnerships involving Story2.
Strategic Partnership 1
We supported a strategic partnership between Story2 and CollegeBound Initiative (CBI), a high-touch college guidance and access program that places highly-trained, full-time college counselors in partnering Title I New York City schools. This partnership complements CBI’s college guidance by providing students served by CBI with the tools they need to develop strong personal essays for college applications and scholarships, which will ultimately lead to better college match and matriculation outcomes for these underserved youth.
Strategic Partnership 2
We supported a second strategic partnership between Story2 and College Advising Corps (CAC). Through this collaboration, Story2 trained CAC staff, including virtual advisors, to implement their Moments Method curriculum and tools virtually to 11th grade students across ten states, including New York. As with the CBI partnership, the train-the-trainer elements of the program were coupled with student work in the online StoryBuilder platform and written feedback on student essays from Story2 advisors.
