Approach

National Dance Institute

The National Dance Institute (NDI), founded in 1976 by New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise, serves students in classes each week through more than 40 school partnerships across the New York City region. The Foundation has provided catalytic funding to NDI for over 10 years, helping it to establish a permanent home at the Center for Learning and the Arts on West 147h Street, which includes the Virginia Sloane Studio, and in expanding its reach by collaborating beyond NYC in partnership with the Miami City Ballet which allows NDI to share its curriculum.
