Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard University (Ed Labs)
The Foundation is a supporter of The Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard University (EdLabs), which employs a research and design model designed to identify root causes of performance gaps, vet options for reform, and identify and replicate "solutions" that will improve our nation's public schools.
Heckscher Foundation grants funded the EdLabs pilot study, “Evaluating the Integrated Learning Systems Pilot Program in New York City Schools,” which revealed the importance of technology’s role in better education. The findings may impact students throughout New York Public Schools and elsewhere and, ultimately, achieve impact on all 1.1 million public school students in New York City by providing access to needed tools and resources.
