Heckscher Grant Backs Children's Learning Garden in Brooklyn

Date: 11/09/07

The New York Restoration Project recently reported on the stunning renovation of a Brooklyn garden made possible by a grant from the Heckscher Foundation. Conceived and developed under the design plan of accomplished landscape architect Billie Cohen, the 5,500 square foot Heckscher Foundation Children's Garden is located at 134-136 Scholes Street, across the street from an elementary school in residential neighborhood. The restoration of the garden has enlivened the area and provided a vital
resource for local children and families. View pre and post-renovation photographs at the the New York Restoration Project's website (link below).
